Michael Fischler

Entrepreneur and accomplished business executive with over 30 years of experience in management, sales and marketing for companies focused in the education space. Michael earned a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Florida (Go Gators!). Post-graduation, Michael founded Journey Education Marketing, Inc. (JourneyEd) in 1990 after holding educational sales, management and marketing positions with Radio Shack, Texas Instruments and UES Corp. over a ten-year period. He is widely recognized as a pioneer in delivering academic software discounts directly to students (college & K-12) as well as private career colleges.

Over the years, Mr. Fischler founded the following brands: JourneyEd*, JourneyEd Canada*, JourneyEd Europe*, Academic eStore*, Beyond Graduation, The Journey Continues, Academic Discounts, and Alumni Discounts. (*Sold to Digital River (DRIV) in Aug. 2010). Mr. Fischler attributes most of his success due to the fact that his golf handicap is so high, most people he plays with think that he’s playing bad on purpose to help his business career.

Allan Fischler

At Journey Education Marketing, Inc. for 18 years, Allan served as Director of Marketing overseeing all facets of the company’s marketing program. The company’s marketing covered direct marketing for consumer and institutional business, channel marketing that included college bookstores, student licensing, and consortia organizations. Allan has vast experience with traditional off-line marketing, as well as online marketing. Prior to joining Journey Education, Allan served as a promotions specialist at Blair Television in New York City and claims to have performed stand-up comedy (although we find this hard to believe). Allan has a Bachelor of Science from the School of Management at SUNY Buffalo. Allan does not have a boat as he is afraid he will drown, but oddly enough one of his favorite TV shows is “Deadliest Catch”. On weekends you can usually find him fixing things around the house that weren’t broken, reading biographies on his iPad about people far more interesting than himself.

Her previous experience as the Director of Customer Service for Journey Education, K12 & Post-Secondary Customer Service Supervisor at McGraw Hill Publishing and Macmillan K12 Publishing with specialized focus on DODDS/American International Schools and Premier Client accounts has allowed her to be a great asset at ThinkEDU. Paris Schmidtke

Paris Schmidke is our new Educational Sales Representative for the Learning Services Division. Paris earned her BA in Public Relations from Barry University and her MBA in 2012 from the University of Phoenix. Paris is primarily focused on recruiting Autodesk ATC’s.

Most of her experience prior to ThinkEDU has been in the proprietary Higher Education (Admissions) space. In her most recent role, the students whom she marketed to were career professionals, C-Level Executives or Entrepreneurs who were seeking niche executive certifications to enhance the management of their career or business.

“When I am not working, I am listening to reggae music because as a Jamaican- it’s organic to me. I also dance Kizomba or build legos with my son.”

Rob Bell

Rob is a seasoned business professional with over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. He has worked in multiple roles over the years, including sales, business development, channel management and strategic partner management. He started his business career in 1998 at Total Training, a video-based software training start-up, where he worked for over 16 years to help build the organization from seven to seventy employees. In his final years at Total Training, he worked as a strategic partner manager, working with major partners like Adobe and Microsoft.

After Total Training, Rob worked at a small Financial Services CRM company, selling customized CRM’s built on the SalesForce platform. Then after spending a year at Moxtra, a mobile collaboration platform start-up, Rob finally joined the coolest education technology company on the planet, ThinkEDU! Rob lives in San Diego with his lovely wife Jen and their two children, Jack and Amanda. He enjoys sports, coaching youth sports, socializing, traveling and living the dream.

Lee served as the Senior Buyer / Director of Merchandising for Journey Education Marketing, Inc. for over 4 years. Key responsibilities included managing over 6,500 SKUs in 36+ Software and Hardware categories / sub-categories; maintaining relationships with Key Distributors such as D&H Distributing, Douglas Stewart & Ingram Micro; directing Web Specials and Promotions; Forecasting changes in the marketplace and preparing for introduction & roll out of New Technology categories; creating SEO-friendly Product & Category descriptions ; and leading a Team of Buyers & Merchandisers.

Prior to joining Journey Education, Lee spent many years in traditional brick-and-mortar retail with Store Management positions at Sam’s Club, PACE Membership Warehouse, Bed, Bath & Beyond & Service Merchandise – as well as creating Web Sites for multiple small businesses. Lee attended NHCC in Houston Texas where he majored in Business Psychology.

Lee enjoys Classic Cars, Basketball, Reading and Music of all genres. When not working, you’ll probably find Lee attending Car Shows, watching Classic Movies or spending time at the Gym.
