Renata Delaney
Addicted to skiing (recently got married on top of a slope in a French ski resort), ginger lover (of both my Irish husband and cat), avid traveler and caipirinha maker. I’m originally from Brazil (where I started teaching English at the age of 15), lived in North Carolina for six months in my senior year in high school, worked in the Walt Disney World, Florida College Program, and moved to London 12 years ago to do a Cambridge University qualification to become a teacher trainer.
In London, I completed my Prince2 and M.A. studies. I also worked as a teacher, teacher trainer, academic manager, as a lecturer at Russell group universities (King’s College London, QMUL, SOAS,etc.), and as a materials designer & examiner for Trinity College London (where I was sent to countries all over the globe to examine teachers and learners!).
In 2016, I moved to sunny (#fakenewsalert!) Brighton to program manage and design online courses for twelve U.K. universities. I love online teaching and teacher training so I decided to start my own online business after that (but my first real business was selling boy bands magazine cut outs and pics in school!).
Last year, I joined Unity as an Instructional Designer for the Learn Content Team and immediately fell in love with everyone. In January this year, the day after I got married in my ski boots, I saw the UCI PM role was up for grabs. I literally got off my skis, and got on Slack to start learning more about the process…and here I am!
I can’t wait to meet everyone and start this new exciting journey! I’m sad I might not be working with the Learn Content Team directly anymore… but I’m not jumping ship, I’m just moving decks! 🙂 Oh and btw, I’ll be working part-time because I’m doing a PhD in E-research and Technology-enhanced learning!
